My trip-The discussion

My trip-The discussion

okay.....so I said that I would tell you about the trip.....so sit back, relax and read.......

So my son and I left Thursday morning (4/3/08)....and headed for Gainesville. I had booked a room thru Expedia for a DaysInn in Gainesville about 3 miles away from my friend who I was visiting. The drive up....wasn't too bad. Adrian was actually very good and well behaved. Nearing Gainesville he did start fussing a little...but it was like a 7 hour car drive.....so it is understandable. I get to the hotel and I am like.....Yikes. It looks like a dump. I read the reviews on the expedia site and I don't remember reading any really bad remarks. I get into the room....and I am like....EWWWWWWWWW! Seriously it was so gross. What seriously got me going was the fact that the carpet was soooo dirty it left your feet/socks black after like a few steps. I was sooo flipped out about it I had adrian constantly on the bed. I tried to get my mind off of it and say..it is only for one night. I met up with my girlfriend for a quick dinner since we would be hanging out the next day...not to mention I wanted to be back in the room before dark.(travelling alone with child). Dinner was fine...but I wanted to check out a health food store and so after dinner I took adrian there for a short look-around. I get there and well.......Adrian is a little wound up. He is 3......what do you expect right??. So neways.......we are in the store and he is running around. I am trying to get him to calm down but he was laughing and running. I finally started walking toward him to get him to stop. Then some guy (the owner I am guessing) started waving his finger at me and saying rude comments about my son. He was like "uh-uh...no no no". Like my son was some sort of dog. He then made a comment about the fact they would be closing in 15 minutes. So I shortly said.....Well, then I guess I am leaving.....the PUNK SAID....."GOOD!!""

Good..........Good you say.....alright sweetie....I can tell you that you won't getting my money....EVER!

So after that....I was livid!! LIVID.....and I had to go back to my crappy room. I was sitting there in the room just fuming when my son starting getting upset about not being home. He was bawling and screaming and kicking to go "upstairs" (which is where I live in accordance to my parents downstairs). I explain to him.....that we are so not close to home.

I call my mom, almost on the verge of tears myself. I felt unsafe and creepy crawly-ish because of the room's uncleanliness. I would have left had adrian not fell asleep when he did. I eventually fell asleep when all the partying and cars quieted down......Pllll :oP

Okay.....next morning. I take adrian to breakfast......vowing to not let the one night ruin my trip. I told my friend I would be to her house around 11 am. After breakfast it was only 10...so I took adrian to a store to look around. As I am looking around I notice a fowl odor and I slip in something in the store. I look down and I am like.....eww it looks like poop. I saw a baby earlier and I thought maybe it slipped out of the diaper. OOOOOOOOH was I wrong. My son was soooo upset that he like had diarreah or something. I notice the back of his pants and legs are covered in poop......OH SOOOOO GROSS.

I buy a new outfit for him...since we are there and I head outside. Poor guy....but he barely even seems like he is that upset. I get to my car and open the side doors to block some view.

I then have my son BUCK FRIGGIN NAKED in the parking lot.....cleaning him down with baby wipes. I already checked out of the hell-hole.....and I couldn't go to riley's yet......not to mention I couldn't put his stinky butt in the car like that. So with people gawking and only wipes to clean my son up.......I sat there for 20 minutes cleaning him up. I wasted a whole thing of wipes and felt I needed a whole new shower afterwards. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO neways...I finally get him cleaned up and decide.....my nerves need some coffee and aspirin. After that.....I head to my friends house. My friend just had a baby 8 months ago...so she is still in the thick of naps and bottle feedings and so on....she also had a UTI and wasn't feeling to well. So our original plans to do anything.....went kaput. We just hung out and talked.....which is no biggie but adrian was really more in the mood to be a little boy. We ended up taking him on a couple walks and trying to keep him entertained. But when he is pissed at mommy.....he likes to make her MISERABLE! He is usually such a good kid.....but well, he wasn't being so good this time. I got him some bubbles....and we were playing with those for awhile. He is "Mr. INDEPENDANT".....and often gets upset when I try to help him. So, giving up on that stuff I let him do his thing with his bubbles......BIG MISTAKE.
At one point I went to go get my chapstick in my purse......when I feel....a wet/slimy mess in my purse......YUP, you got it. He put th

Day 24

Day 24

Pikes Peek

I should not have gotten this picture

I spent the day cleaning the carpets in our new house
they were pretty clean but I decided to take advantage of the house being empty
I have added a new entry to my list of "jobs I never want to have" - carpet cleaner
From 9-4 I pushed a Bissell Big Green Machine around the house (excellent cleaner BTW) and was pretty disgusted by the nasty stuff it packed up
at the same time I was waiting for someone to come pick up the washer and dryer that came with the house
we have both and ours are newer
through our realtor we linked up with a young couple buying their first house
$50 for bot as long as they came to get them
at the last minute I discovered that the hoses were not coming off by normal means and I rushed out to buy a pair of vice grips
I have 6 pairs - all packed
On my way to Lowes I saw this
30 minutes later it was gone
had I remembered to put a pair of pliers in my car
or had the guy come at 9 like he planned instead of 2
or if the hoses had been less stubborn
I would never had gotten this
my images do not do it justice

a FINISHED project!!!

a FINISHED project!!!

we installed the new shelf and added the cabinet hardware today!

funny story - it took two trips to ikea to get those wine glass racks for under the shelf. I was soooo excited to put our new barware in it! then...the bottom of the wine glasses were too big to slide into the holder. I could only put them on the end spots where I could stretch out the metal bars enough. also, only two fit per row, because they are HUGE GLASSES! I picked them for the registry from crate and barrel's website, so I didn't realize how big they are. fun!

also, the countertop there? that's the cleanest and least cluttered horizontal surface in the whole condo right now.

O.K. Guards Are Asleep - its Time to Make Our Escape

I was able to get out today, wrapped-up to the eyeballs. These pigeons were actually behind bars in the old Town Jail. After quite a few hours of no internet access I am back now. I managed to add a lot more new RAM memory to my old P.C. with some help from a kind I.T. neighbour and also cleaned-up my P.C. registry and removed file fragments using a registry cleaner program. Our slow-as-treacle P.C. does seem a lot faster now.

By the way I have looked inside that (upstairs) old cell and it must have seemed positively luxurious accomodation, compared to the dank cold dungeons that many castles had!

deep steam carpet cleaning - The Deep

The Deep [Blu-ray]

The Deep [Blu-ray]

This lavish, suspense-filled film was made from Peter (Jaws) Benchley's best-selling novel. Gail Berke (Jacqueline Bisset) and David Sanders (Nick Nolte) are on a romantic holiday in Bermuda when they come upon the sunken wreck of a WWII freighter. Near it, they find an ampoule of morphine, one of tens of thousands still aboard the wrecked ship. Their discovery leads them to a Haitian drug dealer, Cloche (Louis Gossett), and an old treasure hunter, Romer Treece (Robert Shaw). With Cloche in pursuit, Gail, David and Treece try to recover the sunken treasure.

An obvious attempt to cash in on the success of Jaws, this 1977 thriller was also based on a bestseller by Peter Benchley, and it features a memorable performance by Robert Shaw (the doomed shark hunter in Jaws) in one of the last roles of his career. Looking very tanned and healthy, Nick Nolte and Jacqueline Bisset play a young couple enjoying a tropical vacation who discover a glass ampoule while scuba diving off the coast of Bermuda. It takes a seasoned treasure hunter (Shaw) to identify the ampoule as part of a valuable shipment of World War II morphine lost at sea, coincidentally, atop the even greater treasure of a sunken Spanish galleon. Thus begins a race for drugs and treasure pitting Nolte, Bisset, and Shaw against a ruthless drug lord (Louis Gossett Jr.) who'll do anything--even resort to Haitian voodoo--to get what he wants. It's all rather contrived and exploitative (after all, the movie's best known for Bisset's wet T-shirt scuba-dive), but as escapist entertainment goes it's got some exciting highlights including a moray eel that attacks on cue and... well, uh, Jacqueline Bisset in a wet T-shirt. --Jeff Shannon

Took this one sitting in traffic. I was annoyed because I was hot and because the intersection at Custer and 380 really sucks.

Ran some errands during lunch today. Stopped at Walmart to get soap for the steam cleaner and some deep-clean carpet cleaner. Also picked up a loofah, some Burt's Bees exfloliating body scrub (that I'm excited to try) and some toothpaste. Now tell me if this makes sense to you: Crest with Scope, any flavor, is $2.66 for the 4.4oz, but the same thing in the 6.2oz size is $1.50. AND the 6.2oz size comes with Whitestrips. That seems like it would hurt Crest - or Walmart? - more than anything because obviously people are going to buy the big size because it's $1 cheaper and therefor a better deal. But that means they'll run out of it less often and thus buy less toothpaste and thus spend less money in the long run. So I don't see how that benefits Crest - or Walmart? - at all. But it definitely benefits me and my wallet, in any case.

Finally took my ATT boxes to the UPS store. Wish I had done it sooner because I'm going to get fined for taking so long. Can't really be mad about that though. Really it's what I get for not getting my shit done in a timely manner. Ha, I carried everything into the store in a Dos Equis box and the guy was like, do you want me to throw that out for you? And I said no, I want to keep it and he was like oh, I figured since it was a Dos Equis box....... Then I had to explain that working in a restaurant at the time of a move means packing most of your stuff up in beer case and food boxes (which was the case for my last move and this box is one I kept from that). He just gave me a weird look so I took my Dos Equis box and walked proudly back to my car. It's a badass box in that it is a perfect size and has handles, and I am not ashamed to want to keep it.

Tonight is more cleaning but Bueno and possibly Mac are going to be helping me (in exchange for me buying a case of beer of course), and then we're going swimming. So it won't be as boring and sucky as last night at least.

Cleaning with Chem-Dry is Drier. Cleaner. Healthier.®
You can see the difference! Because Chem-Dry uses about 1/5th the water altogether that is left behind by other cleaners, carpet cleaned with Chem-Dry is dry in just 1-2 hours, not 1-2 days. Traditional steam cleaning uses far more water, and at high pressure, which forces dirt and spills deep into the carpet, which can even soak the pad and flooring. Carpet and upholstery cleaned with Chem-Dry gets cleaner and stays cleaner longer with virtually no reappearing stains. And Chem-Dry's core cleaning solution, The Natural®, is GREEN-certified, ph-balanced, and non-toxic.

    steam cleaning
  • (Steam-cleaner) Vapor steam cleaners or steam vapor systems are cleaning appliances or devices that use steam to quickly dry, clean, and sanitize inanimate surfaces. Often the process is effective enough to disinfect or even sterilize the surfaces.

  • The cleaning method in which the detergent solution is forced through jets under high pressure into the carpet pile and immediately removed along with loose and emulsified soil though a wet vacuum. The vacuum head and jets are usually mounted on the same piece of equipment.

  • Steam Cleaning involves using steam for cleaning. Its uses include domestic applications in cleaning carpets, and industrial uses in removing grease and dirt from engines.
